DeForestation - Kenya's Northern Desert

CAPTION: "You know I need fire to boil my water so l can prepare maize for my meal but first I had to walk to the desert to try and find a few branches 
of firewood to make this small fire so...i walked alone with my panga and I walked..and I walked so far..and I walked some more but I had to stop for a 
short while because I was very tired and because the trees, you know as far as I could see, are very few and the one I found seems to be very tired 
without any branches...it looked so sad and I had to walk back home without any wood and so tonight we don't have fire and we..we are hungry." (Sarah/Turkana Nomad/Torbi)
